Post Office to Stay Open All Day on Dec 20

Arthur Ward acting post master says the Post Office will remain open all day Saturday December 20 to serve the public. Only two employees will be on duty at the parcel post and stamp windows. The money order window will not open that afternoon.

Firemen's Dance Set for New Year's Eve at Legion Park

Preparations are underway for the Shiner Volunteer Fire Department's annual New Year's Eve dance at Legion Park on Wednesday December 31 at 8:00 p.m. Music by Joe Patek's Orchestra. Admission 75 cents for gentlemen and 25 cents for ladies. Dance will be held regardless of weather. No fireworks allowed on park premises. Everyone invited.

The Baptist Sunday School held a Christmas pageant on Wednesday night December 17 at 7 00 p m Miss Joan Turk played Mary with Fred Cook as Joseph and Oran Davis Ray Seale and Gene Dreyer as the Wise Men Shepherds were Jack Cook Clem Blessington and Arnold Stanek and Miss Zell Grasse portrayed the Angel The Sunbeam group sang Away In A Manger directed by Mrs Edwin Gehrels after the pageant gifts were exchanged by children and visitors The Rev O T Breedlove directed the pageant and Christmas sermons followed on December 21 with No Room in the Inn as the morning theme Public invited especially those without a church home
