Cotton Vote Choices Defined for Upland Quotas Referendum
Eugene Hermes outlines the 1967 upland cotton marketing quotas referendum options. Eligible voters include 1966 upland cotton producers or their proceeds, with mail ballots allowed December 5–9. If two thirds vote yes, quotas and price-support penalties apply. if more than one third vote no, no quotas and no penalties, with price support at 50 percent of parity for those not exceeding their allotment. Transfer of cotton allotments must be filed by January 3, 1967.
