Emma Hartman Schodde dies at Stevens Nursing Home in Yoakum on December 3 1966 aged 82 years 5 months and 25 days after years of illness including strokes. She was born July 8 1884 in Nelsonville Industry Community Austin County and married October 8 1904 near Dreyer later living in Moulton and Cuero leaving a large family. Funeral held December 5 at Zion Lutheran Church Moulton with Rev Julius Holm. burial in Moulton City Cemetery.

Deer hunting accident injures Shiner man near Gonzales

Eugene Patek, 26, of Shiner, is treated at Citizens Memorial Hospital after a rifle discharge while deer hunting on Frank Picha property in Gonzales County. He was struck above the knee, lost consciousness, then was moved to Waggoner Memorial Hospital and later to Victoria for surgery. He is son of Mr and Mrs Jerome Patek and husband of Dorothy Picha.

Funeral services for Ed Kocian of Route 2 Hallettsville were held Saturday December 19 1966 at the Kubena Funeral Home and Moravia Catholic Church with Father Edward Bartsch officiating. Burial followed in Moravia Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Marvin Fikac Kenneth Krupala Waldo Boehm Anthony Boehm Gregory Seidenberger and Philip Seidenberger. Mr Kocian died December 7 1966 at Guadalupe Valley Hospital Seguin at 78 years and 18 days. He was born November 19 1888 in Lavaca County. He married Anna Kutac in October 1914 at Praha. Survivors include six sons Julius Bruno Edward Jr Valentine Thomas Eldon and one more son Ed Kocian in Houston and five daughters Evelyn Fikac Bridget Krupala Judith Seidenberger Irene Babik Marjorie Boehm along with a brother and a sister and many grandchildren. Sincerest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.
