Death of Herman Kempe at 71 in Shiner and Moulton
Herman Kempe died Friday afternoon in Moulton area after sudden paralysis. He was born March 15, 1864 in Fayette County and lived in Shiner since 1919 with wife Sophie Lockman. Survived by wife, children Mrs Chandler of Victoria, C D Kempe, Selma Kempe of Dallas, a late Emma, two grandchildren, and siblings Mrs Emma Grasshoff, William Kempe, Mrs Henry Thulemeyer, B A Kempe, Paul Kempe Sr. Funeral Sunday at 3 with Rev A Guyon. pallbearers were nephews. Burial at Moulton amid flowers, noted for quiet strength and dependability.

Change of Schedule Disrupts Mail and Passenger Service
Beginning today a full schedule change affects the only passenger train. Train 51 to Yoakum now arrives from Waco at 1 04 PM instead of 8 47 PM, and Train 52 to Waco arrives from Yoakum at 5 18 PM instead of 6 40 AM. Mail pouches on mixed trains are discontinued today, stopping mail service and daily papers until afternoon each day. Postmaster Koether notes this abrupt change will be hard to adjust to.
