Beautiful Church Wedding Unites Lorene Koerner and Max Beseler

Lorene Koerner and Max Beseler wed Tuesday night at United Dr. Martin Luther Church in a double ring ceremony. Rev. J C A Pfenninger officiated. Music featured violin by Hertha Liebhafsky and vocal accompaniment by Perry Wendtland. Bridesmaids included Gladys Rogge and Louise Thulemeyer. flowers by Virginia Vogelsang. Lorene, an only child from Shiner, and Max, Seguin native, plan a reception at the Koerner home.

Wedding Shower Brimming With Gifts and Joyful Farewell

The bridal party filled the home to capacity with many chairs on the lawn while gifts showcased affection for the couple. A lavish repast followed, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Koerner. The couple departed for Galveston, the bride tossing her bouquet into Miss Louise Thulemeyer’s arms amid warm congratulations.

Ida Jo Schaefer Weds Judge C C Clamp in St Marys

Mrs William Schaefer of Shiner announces the marriage of her daughter Ida Jo to Judge C C Clamp of San Antonio. They wed July 23 at 2 PM in St Marys rectory with Rev A C Dusseau officiating. Ida Jo, a Shiner native, is a Santa Rosa School of Nursing graduate and now a registered nurse. She resides at 230 West Cypress Street and will have her hometown paper changed to reflect the new address.

Swimming Party At Moore's Pool Shiner Pupils Enjoy Day

Pupils of Shiner Summer School with teachers Mr and Mrs Chovanetz and Mr Lue decke toured to Hallettsville last Tuesday for a full day at Moore's swimming pool. A picnic lunch followed a long drive and swimming with fried chicken salads fruits sandwiches cakes and ice cold watermelons. After more swimming the group headed home as dusk approached thanking the hosts for a delightful treat.

First City Cotton Bale Arrives at 521 Pounds

Geo Flessner delivered the first bale of cotton Wednesday at 10 A M ginned by C Kuentzel gin weighing 521 pounds classed middling and purchased by Wolters Bros Co at 20 cents per pound The bale was raised within city limits The previous first bale arrived July 27 last year brought by F W Picha from Kokernot section weighing 590 pounds and selling at 22 cents per pound.

First 1927 cotton bale received from Boundary

The first bale of 1927 cotton arrived July 15 brought in by Joe Kurtz Sr from Boundary. It weighed 527 pounds and sold for 20 cents per pound.
