Car Wreck Near John Till Place Injures Father
Frank Mikeska and his father George were in a Chevrolet coach when their car struck a guard post at a culvert about three miles from Hallettsville Tuesday at noon. George Mikeska suffered multiple broken ribs and head bruises. Frank Mikeska escaped injury. The injured man was taken to Shiner Hospital by Geiger-Beck ambulance. The crash happened as the driver tried to light a cigar.

John G Kuhn Dies at 59 in Taylor Catholic Church Funeral
John G Kuhn died at Taylor on Sunday at 11 am at age 59. Funeral services were held in Taylor’s Catholic Church and burial followed in the Catholic Cemetery. Born and raised in Hallettsville, he worked at Ledbetter-Kopecky Drug Store and later at Hyman-Malasky Drug Store in Taylor for 19 years. Survived by his wife Mary Sciba Kuhn and children Margaret Schorn, Mary Ann Kuhn, Josephine Kuhn, John Peter Kuhn, and Leon Kuhn, with many relatives in Shiner, Houston, Hallettsville, and Chicago. brothers Peter, Anton, Bill, and others, plus grandchildren.
