Registration proceedings slow for Indiana constitutional election
Noblesville Indiana June 28 1917 registration of voters for the September special election to choose delegates to the constitutional convention proceeds slowly. The Registration Board will stay in session until August 20th in the courthouse at Noblesville and all voters must register in person or by written application. The August 20 deadline precedes the September 18 election by 29 days. Also covered is a Hamilton county motorist case settling for the defendant and several civil suits against a railroad company for deaths and injuries. A jury acquitted Grover Dawson of stealing 810 pounds of corn. Norval McGibbons received an indeterminate sentence for chicken theft. his partner Alta Gandy is in prison. Continues on last page.

House Struck by Lightning in Sheridan Storm
A severe rain and electrical storm struck Sheridan Tuesday afternoon damaging the home of Mrs. J. H. Mace on West Third Street. Lightning hit the chimney and traveled to the ground, requiring rebuilding from the bottom up. Adjacent rooms suffered furniture, and electrical and telephone wires were damaged. The rain was described as badly needed.

Judge rules on women's suffrage for constitutional convention

Mrs Eunice Stanbrough Dies at Indianapolis Insane Hospital
Mrs Eunice Stanbrough wife of Emanuel Stanbrough a farmer of Washington township died Sunday at the insane hospital in Indianapolis where she had been a patient for sixteen years. She is survived by her husband and two nearly grown daughters. She was 47 and the daughter of Mr and Mrs George Stalker widely known in the western part of this county.

Piano House Closes After Auction and Transfer

Clark Colby of the Officers Reserve corps visited parents here Sunday.

Mrs Elizabeth Stephenson Dies in Nevada Missouri
Mrs Elizabeth Stephenson, 65, died Saturday at her daughter’s home in Nevada Missouri from paralysis. She was buried Monday at Crown Hill Indianapolis. Surviving daughter is among five children, including Mrs Dr L I Kercheval of Sheridan.
