Four million dollars in whiskey moved to Mt Vernon warehouses

The Hannis Distilling Company plans moving 109000 barrels of looted whiskey from Martinsburg to its Mount Vernon storage, via the Baltimore and Ohio line to Camden Station. About twenty-five cars will depart with aging stock and bottling material, as authorities guard the transfer. The stock, valued at four million dollars, sits in certif icated form and may fetch high prices if sold through major markets. The move follows the distillery’s long history in Martinsburg and ownership by Alexander Parks, with the National Fruit Products Company later acquiring part of the property.
