Model Scandinavian town in Wisconsin cooperative system
Scandinavia Wisconsin is praised as a model community with 1500 to 2000 residents, largely Norwegian and Icelandic. The township is cooperative, owning banks stores telephone lines creamery and other businesses as township corporations. A single Lutheran church and a college for visitors frame a morally strong town with no alcohol sales, widespread church activity, and a successful Chautauqua program run by local youth.

Tax shift seen as 1921 realty up and personalty down
County Assessor Watson reports 1921 records nearly complete as Board of Equalization nears. Real estate values rise mainly from farm building improvements while Charles Town sees little new construction. Personal property falls due to sewer assessments, stock and grain declines, and money moved into non fixable securities like Liberman bonds reducing taxable values.
