Fourth of July Balloon Tale and Widow's Berry Patch Aid
A Fourth of July whim leads Nanny Lea and cousins to release a balloon with a secret roster. The balloon lands on Bromley farm, sparking a plan to help widow Lane by gathering neighbors to harvest berries. Ninety-one volunteers, led by Thad Tyson, descend on Lane’s patch, raise funds, and donate coins, fruit, and labor to reimburse the widow for the loss.
