The Hagerstown crowd witnessed John A Light’s balloon ascent from the public square. The market remained dull with prices easing about five cents. A 7,500 bushel lot of Cora was offered while white corn traded at 72.75 cents and yellow at 70.375 cents. Oats moved little with Maryland and Vermont oats at 25 430 cents and Pennsylvania at 33 35 cents. A stall fet of old Pennsylvania rye sold for 82 cents.
