Watch Your Step Steer Clear of Septic Tank Scams
The Michigan Department of Consumer Protection warns residents about unscrupulous septic tank cleaners. They warn of scammers posing as state inspectors with MHD decals and charging by weight, including a bogus example of 5700 pounds billed at 3 cents per pound. Reputable firms charge per job based on tank size. Stay cautious and use common sense to avoid overcharges.
