Tie Vote For School Post Poses Problems
In Isabella County the school board tied five to five for a vacant post with Herbert Travis and Stewart Gillison each holding five votes. The election board chair John Wilberding sought guidance from state officials, suggesting drawing lots, but the term on Travis expires in June so no vacancy exists. The board postponed action pending legal counsel. Also reported are a Sheep herd fire at Super Products and notices on mandatory shots for kindergarteners including TB skin tests now required by state law and immunization clinics offered locally.
