Shepherd Honors War Heroes Memorial Service and Parade

The Shepherd community held a 6:30 P.M. memorial service and parade led by the Veterans of the Joe Alsh Post 8215 and Auxiliary. The Shepherd High School Band directed by Claude Lemmer, plus Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, marched along Wright Avenue to the village park for a wreath laying and a Navy dead commemoration at Salt River Bridge before heading to the Methodist Church and cemetery. A local note on ice cream purchases added a humorous aside about costs.
