Mrs Melinda Goffnett honored on 90th birthday celebration
Mrs. Melinda Goffnett of Route 1 Shepherd turned 90 on Sunday June 28. She lives alone and tends a garden as six children, 17 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren exist. Eighty relatives gathered at Island Park Mt Pleasant for a picnic. Th birthday cake with 90 candles was made by granddaughter Lucille Cotter. Guests arrived from Detroit Pontiac Waterford Lansing Grand Ledge Cadillac Shepherd and Mt Pleasant. The second note announces a July 6 school budget hearing at the High School Cafeteria 8 PM. enrollment shows 1708 students ages 5 to 19 with 131 four year olds and 128 three year olds indicating ongoing facility pressure.
