Michigan Council of Churches backs proposed state constitution
The Michigan Council of Churches endorsed the new constitution ahead of the April 1, 1963 election. The resolution cites strong civil rights provisions, better legislative apportionment, optional county home rule, economic advantages, and fewer state agencies. Other endorsers include the Farm Bureau, League of Women Voters, PTA, and Chamber of Commerce.
