Michigan constitutional convention proposes mix of appointive and elective offices
The draft constitution would convert four state offices to appointive posts: state treasurer auditor general superintendent of public instruction and state highway commissioner while keeping governor lieutenant governor attorney general and secretary of state elected. The treasurer and highway commission would require senate approval.
