Regular meeting of the Shepherd Village Council held in the public meeting room of the Shepherd State Bank on August 19 1963 at 8:00 p m. Meeting called to order by President Don Gates. Roll call listed Cassatt among present.
Minutes show Rex Williams urging combined policies due to gaps in coverage. Council appoints Swenson Cook and Cassatt to meet Williams August 21 to draft solutions for September 3 report. Building permits for Martin Coughlin Ira Delong presented. funds approved for warrants and payments.
Mrs. David Clevenger and Mrs. Merwin Johnson hosted a Monday stork shower at Mrs. Clevenger's home honoring Mrs. Edwin Wood. Guests enjoyed games and a dainty lunch, receiving many dainty gifts.
Hildebrand and family with Kalamazoo relatives visit. Bellinger and Cotter wedding reception at Sacred Heart Church Mt Pleasant. Detroit and Leaton visitors join Anthony MyShock family weekend. Paul Grim Sandra and Gene Stone families visit A C Grim and Knauss homes. fair trip with Clark family.
Miss Kathie Landon spent the weekend with Kathie Parks. Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Marshall and family shopped in Grand Rapids Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Parks with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Grace visited the upper peninsula and Canada last weekend. Mrs. Walter Parks is improving after a stay in Clare Hospital.
Shepherd briefs state Mr and Mrs Al Panetta and two daughters of Lansing called on Mrs Melinda Goffnett and Mr and Mrs A Kirkconnell last Thursday. Barbara and Vicki Scott are involved in the note.
