A near tragedy occurred Monday on Twin Lake when Merle Henry of Halfmoon Lake suffered a heart attack and drowned twice, with a crippled-handed companion managing to pull him to shore. He was rushed to hospital in serious condition.

Friendship Circle Adds Two New Members At UK Hungerford Home
The Friendship Circle met July 31 at the UK Hungerford home with fifteen members and four guests. New members Mrs Myra Hummel and Mrs Iva Childs were welcomed. Lynn Post and Janice Leatherman won women honors. Francis Whalen and Harold Travis won men honors. Evalee Rhode took the door prize. Refreshments were served. A picnic supper at Old State Park was planned for August 28.
