The American Watch Company announces it began in 1860, now spans four acres, costs over a million dollars, and employs more than 700 workers. It makes 70 000 watches yearly, accounting for at least half of U.S. sales. Their watches are fully machine crafted under one roof with precise parts reproduction, ensuring consistent timekeeping. All watches except the lowest grade carry a special warranty.
An 19th century advertisement touts Dr Tobias Venetian Liniment as a universal internal remedy for chronic rheumatism toothache headache sore throat mumps burns cuts insect stings pains in the back chest and limbs sprains old sores swellings and internal ailments like diarrhea dysentery colic and seasickness. It claims grown sales since 1817 and urges readers to buy at 60 cents or 1 from Cortland Street New York.
The Shawano County Journal invites residents to send local news and items for publication, promising to publicize the interests and resources of the area through community reporting. The notice appeals to citizens to share town events, happenings, and notices for inclusion.

A Knoxville special notes interruptions by radi cola and black attendees, sparking a riot with a fatality and multiple wounds. New York cites slow returns with radical gains for Middle and East Tennessee and Brownlow leading by large margins in many counties. Also includes San Francisco flying machine plans and Mexican Liberal persecution of Catholics with a Unionist killing near Neva, Kentucky.
A Lowell dedication of a 17 foot allegorical bronze statue of Victory, gift of Dr. J Aver, drew civic and military leaders. Dr Aver praised by Mayor Richardson for his philanthropy and for restoring health with his medicine as the figure, moulded by Rauch, stands on a granite pedestal in Monument Square. Police report a Neenah robbery with $1,000 stolen from an elderly traveler. the two suspects captured and jailed. A Caledonia man loses his foot in a mowing accident. he is reported to be recovering.
