Sixteen year old Leroy Kirschenmann led Shafter High School competitors with multiple blue ribbons in Aberdeen Angus. He won the showmanship contest in the Future Farmers of America division and earned reserve champion pens. The community booth earned fourth place $125 behind Arvin Tehachapi and Wasco. the big steer auction is set for Saturday at the fairgrounds, with only one prime animal allowed per family.
