She earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force and studied human relations during training. Smith, daughter of Janice J Smith and Daniel C Smith of Shafter, is a 1990 graduate of Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo.
Pvt Woods stationed at Fort Benning is the son of Tonya L Wood of Shafter and a 1996 graduate of Shafter High School, according to local notices.
