Kern County to consider biosolids land use ordinance

On October 5 1999 the Kern County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing in Bakersfield to enact an ordinance regulating the land application of biosolids and setting related permit fees. The plan would ban land application countywide effective January 1 2003 with certain sites allowed to continue until then under interim provisions. The hearing will cover testing, environmental review, and a capital improvement plan with mitigation measures and fee rates while allowing public comment and written testimony to be filed by the clerk or the Resource Management Agency.
