Chinese entomologist visits Shafter to study in USA
Bai, a plant protection scientist from Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences in China, spent nearly six months at USDA Cotton Research studying entomology with Dr. Thomas Leigh in Shafter and will move to UC Davis for six months. He compares cotton farming, pesticide use, and insect pest species in China and California, noting lygus species differences and spider mite variety.
