Bakersfield will host the International Championship Stock Plane Races in 1966. The Professional Race Pilots Association approved the Min ter Field course on August 30 after a flight and inspection by PRPA western region director Bob Downey.
The Kern County Board of Trade approved a 100 promotional page for Taft Oildorado Inc. in the Oildorado brochure. The Taft celebration marks 55 years of West Side progress, per director Clarence Williams. Events run Oct. 21 through Oct. 24 with a board meeting in Taft Oct. 13.
Kern County Board of Trade directors pledged support for National Highway Week in 1925 to promote highway progress. Posters feature West Bakersfield freeway and Route 58. the Kern River Canyon freeway is included in a $380 million state plan. An almond hulling enterprise tour is set for Sept. 22 with Warren Carter. Mr and Mrs Fred Stone took a three day trip to the Mother Lode around Sonora.
A Kern County acknowledgment dated August 30 1965 states Jack Baker appeared before Notary Alfred Mortimore to acknowledge the instrument. The document bears Mortimore seals and dates with commission expiry June 1 1968 and publication line September 9th 196? bearing local press reference.
Mrs. Eleanor Dunn of Denver returned home Sept 5 after visiting Shafter with parents Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Heinlein and siblings Grace Cox and Elmer. Dunn attended the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists convention in San Francisco and was elected a trustee. she practices as an anesthetist and is a medical doctor. Grace Cox vacationed at Grant’s Pass Oregon with R F Heinlein and family and visited Bob Gladden at Klamath Falls.
