Hearing On Zones Of Benefit In Kern County

A public hearing on proposed zones of benefit in the San Joaquin Valley portion of Kern County is set for Tuesday October 5 at 4 30 p m at Kern County Water Agency offices Bakersfield 1100 26th Street The Shafter Wasco Irrigation District area is excluded from the zones since it will not contract for or use any Feather River water The exclusion has been a point of contention in the county and the October 5 meeting is crucial to Shafter The Shafter Chamber of Commerce supports the exclusion from costs of importing Feather River water
