Hart's Memorial Park Sept 10 hydro boat division result
Elmo Belloumini took second place in the hydro-boat division at Hart's Memorial on September 10. The event was sponsored by the boat club. Various local families and guests enjoyed the weekend including Torrigianni and the Riccomini family. Robert L. Smith entered his sophomore year at California Polytechnic School and presides over his class. Mrs. Mildred Aitkens transferred to Buttonwillow. Several families returned from vacations at Hermos Beach and Santa Barbara. Ladies Night with the Lions Club featured a chicken dinner, dancing, and swimming.

Surprise Party Honors Mrs Lea Ghilarducci
A surprise birthday gathering was hosted at the Ghilarducci home for Mrs Lea Ghilarducci. Attendees included Mr and Mrs Arthur Ghilarducci Mr and Mrs John Merlo and infants Mr and Mrs Pietro Merlo Mr and Mrs Frank Banducci of Bakersfield Mr and Mrs Joe Banducci of Bakersfield Richard Fred and Mary Banducci also of Bakersfield. The honoree was 22 years old and refreshments of ice cream cake and coffee were served.
Lewis Returns From Sacramento
Buttonwillow Assemblyman Joe C. Lewis returned from Sacramento where he attended hearings of the Assembly Interim Committee on Conservation Planning and Public Works. The committee will draft a comprehensive long range plan of state county and municipal public works for presentation to the next legislative session.
