He spoke at the noon luncheon at the Shafter Motel and presided at an officers and committees assembly at 6:30 p.m. Pat Kelly of Shafter introduced the governor. Jantzen manages a title insurance firm in Hanford. the district covers the San Joaquin Valley from Tulare to Hanford, the coastal area of San Luis Obispo, and the southern end of Monterey. the district has 46 clubs.

Nine Teachers Are New To High School At Shafter
Shafter High School welcomed nine new associates for the 1967 68 year as forty two returning staffers greeted them. Three transferred to Shafter within the Kern County Union High School District while six were new to the district. Ernest J. Vines, long time Kern County educator, joined in 1955 after English and social science work at Burroughs High School.
