Shafter Generals gear up for a daunting 1999 schedule
Shafter High School football eyes a tough 1999 slate after a 7-5 finish in 1998. Returning star Sammy Macias anchors a deep lineup with Phillip Ybarra and Josh Preston leading the offense. New juniors Eric Brown Norman Merlo and others push for key roles as Kenito Gonzales takes the helm at quarterback. The Generals face Porterville Exeter and Morro Bay in a season likely defined by depth, injury avoidance, and a battle for the league title.
