Kern County Fair Highlights Youth Involvement
The Kern County Fair supports youth activities with 4 H clubs FFA Junior Farmers Boy Scouts and related groups. In 1965 1311 juniors showed 2970 entries and premiums exceed 13000. 800 plus 4 H members compete in livestock home economics and booths as 300000 visitors attend the seven day fair September 26 to October 2.

Teen Dance Season Opens at Legion Hall With Band
The Criterions kick off the American Legion Teen Dance season Saturday September 10 at the Veterans Memorial Hall from 8 30 to 11 30 p m. Admission is 1 dollar. The Leslie L Robinson unit 213 auxiliary snack bar will operate. Band personnel include Phil Enns drums Danny Ramos bass guitar Dave Quistad rhythm guitar and Micky Frizzell lead guitar.
