Jack Blair McCarthy, 28, pleaded guilty to robbing a nitare Store safe last July. Judge Warren Stockton sentenced him to three years probation with nine months to be served in the county jail. McCarthy, later found at his Wasco home, left a note thanking for the open safe, assembled from clipped letters. Police recovered all but 14 cents.
