Improvements and repairs at Richland schools
Summer work in the Richland District upgraded facilities at Santa Fe Building with rewiring and new light fixtures. Cafeteria kitchen equipment was expanded for 1200 meals with a steam cooker and bake oven and two new sinks. A sanitary sewer line to the city system at Wall and Munzer Streets will serve the pool and future connections.

At a noisy council meeting Budget Road project No 3 to lay curbs and sidewalks on Shafter Ave Ash St Orange and Stone Aves failed to attract a bid, 390 residents signed a petition urging abandonment if cost exceeds 3 50 per front foot. The lone bid was 31663 for 6000 feet. Council tabled Project 16 bids, and city attorney to study financing to cut costs. A new cab company City Cab Co proposed by James E Groddy. Owl Cab Co urged caution. Budget for next year projected receipts 101165.38 expenses 90900.96. New fire truck included.
