AAA Cuts Bankhead Cotton Ginning Tax and Exemption Fees

Theodore F. Bayless, aged 83, a veteran Indian scout who served under General Custer in 1868-69, lives in Shafter California. Born July 11 1852 in Franklin County Arkansas he later wrote on western history and now spends time writing and tending his garden. He has four sons J F Debs Rex Roy and one daughter Mrs Tesse W Smith.

Accident Victim Evans Duncan Buried in Wasco
Funeral services for Evans Duncan 19 were held at the Church of the Nazarene in Wasco at 2 PM Tuesday after an auto crash in Sacramento. Interment followed at Shafter cemetery. The Rev Geo M Knight officiated with solo by Mrs T Kummerfelt. He was survived by parents Mr and Mrs Joe Duncan and six siblings Earl Robert John Mayme Haddade Edna Parker and Juanita Duncan.

Karl Schneider Dies on His Eighty Fifth Birthday
Karl Schneider died on his 85th birthday Saturday morning at 1 o'clock at White Memorial hospital in Los Angeles after a long illness. He was born in Germany and lived in Shafter for 10 to 12 years after coming to the United States about 50 years ago. He retired from ranching recently. The Seventh Day Adventist church service was held Monday at 2 with Eld er G. A. Grauer of Bakersfield preaching in English and P. J. Buller of Shafter in German. A chorus including Mrs. Theo Voth and others performed, with Irene Neumann at the piano. He is survived by his wife Louise, five sons Charles of Lodi, Isaac and Herman of Bakersfield, C. E. of Shafter, W. M. of Los Angeles, two daughters Mrs. Louise Fox of Shafter and Emelia Sinner, 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral by Janzen Funeral Home and burial in Shafter cemetery.
