The Shafter Kiwanis Club Halloween Parade is set for Thursday Oct 31 at 7 p.m. Parade chairman is Arlie Feil. Shafter High School senior class hosts a homecoming steak dinner Oct 25 from 430 to 730 p.m. in the parking lot by the football field and new gym. Dinner features steak, potato, salad, roll and drink. tickets are 6 with takeouts.

City Council Donates Funds for Shafter Pool Project
The Shafter City Council voted to donate 40,000 toward renovating the municipal pool complex, with funding coming from redevelopment money. SRPD Director Lynda Leopold announced the grant approval and stated renovations could begin in January as plans advance toward a December approval and bids.
