Marilisa Topping and Daulton D Warren Jr. were married in a double ring ceremony September 18 at Shafter Missionary Baptist Church attended by about 50 relatives. The bride’s parents are Vernon Unruh of Shafter and Mrs Bettencourt of Condon Oregon.
The Wasco Christian Church plans a revival from Sunday November 2 to Tuesday November 4 at the Seventh Day Adventist building on Ninth and Poplar. Evangelist John G Abernethy leads the event with The Gospelities providing music each evening at 7 30 and Sunday morning at 10 30.
Tina Ann Colvard wed Troy N Graves in Las Vegas Nevada on August 22 at five o clock with Pony Virgil L Swoope officiating. The bride daughter of Jack Colvard Sr and wife and the groom son of Vernie Graves. The couple reside in Shafter California. The bride wore white chiffon and satin Gatsby style gown with a white carnation bouquet centered by an orchid. Debbie Ratzlaff served as maid of honor and Cecil Jackson as best man. After a reception at the Veteran's Memorial Hall Shafter the newlyweds honeymooned and set up home at 232 California Ave Shafter.
Mrs. Harold Greene led Las Amigas as Auxiliary Chairman at the 27th annual National Assistance League convention in San Diego hosted by Region I at the Hotel del Coronado. Also attending were Mrs. C. H. Vignolo and Rolf Jacobsen Sr. Delegates participated in sessions highlighting auxiliaries and philanthropic projects across 52 chapters.
Rio Bravo hosts a dinner enchilada fundraiser at Greeley School on Thursday October 23 from 5 30 to 7 30 p m with an 6 to 9 p m carnival featuring door prizes a country store and activities for adults and youngsters The 8th grade sponsors a cakewalk to raise funds for a trip to Sacramento.
