The Kiwanis Halloween Parade returns on Thursday October 30 at 7 p.m. with signups at local banks and stores. Cash prizes range from five to twenty five dollars across age groups and entries may include floats bands and youth groups. A poster contest at Richland Intermediate School awards five three and two dollars for top designs.

Ceremonial Planned to Honor Banks

Plans Approved for Shafter Police Building Bid Opening Set
Shafter city council approved plans for a new Police Department building and scheduled bid openings for November 24 at 7 30 p m with sealed bids due by 5 p m that day. The $130000 cement and tile structure will sit at Central Valley Highway and Sunset Ave and be ready by late summer 1970 if weather cooperates.
