Water project linked to Wasco Shafter costs and goals
Water would move from Madera to Bakersfield and north to Sacramento and south to San Diego via a 36 inch line. About 10 000 acre feet could be marketed by Wasco and Shafter. Project could generate hydroelectricity for the Shafter Wasco area and costs are shared at 3.5 million dollars over 20 years. Completion slated for April 1995. A separate legal dispute concerns alleged misrepresentation and potential constructive termination of employees tied to the RTC facility and city administration.
