Shafter Generals top South High 38 20 in league opener
The Generals improve to 4 1 with a decisive 38 20 win over South High School. Casey Crown recovered a South fumble and Eric Brown scored twice as Ricky Ishida connected with Lonis Pompe and Tim Stevens for big gains. Brown added a 100 yard kickoff return and finished with a strong rushing night to pace the Generals offense. South kept fighting, scoring on James Cain big plays, but Shafter led 32 7 at halftime and held on to snap the Rebels’ momentum.
