BPW Holds Meeting After Carnival in Richland
The Shafter Business and Professional Women met after the Richland PTA Carnival to review the new budget and plan future activities. Mary Austin reported on a September trip to Carmel Valley for BPW president training. Jane Whitson was named first vice president and Edna Adams will sponsor the Blue Bird group. A District Conference in Yosemite is set for October 13–14, with Mary Austin representing the local club. a tea for prospective members is planned at Jane Whitson’s home on October 18.

Kern County Women's Golf Championship Schedule
The Kern County Women’s Golf Championship runs October 23 to 25 as a 54 hole medal event. The first round is at Bakersfield Country Club, second at Buena Vista in Taft, and the final day at North Kern Golf Course. A buffet lunch follows final rounds and the ace is awarded. Chef Rains will cater.
