Farm Bureau Allotment Discussed At Hanford Meeting
At the Crops Department regular meeting in Kern County representatives were elected as voting delegates from Kern. Thomson Buttonwillow is chairman with Doyle Crider Arvin as vice chairman. A Kern County Cotton Department was formed with Ray Blair Buttonwillow as chairman and George Maze Bakersfield as vice-chairman. The resolution was presented at the State Cotton Meeting in Hartford. The California Park Bureau Federation favors a three year lease distribution of the cotton allotment and argues that the 1948 calendar year should not count toward the 1955 national allotment, urging interpretation of the law to use the five years prior to the marketing quota announcement.

Record Turnout At Cub Meeting At Richland
Cub Pack 13 held its first monthly meeting at Richland cafeteria with a record turnout of Cubs and parents.
