Repair Work Under Way on So Lerdo Strip
Dirt has been brought in for leveling of the west sector of a $400,000 road widening and repair project on Lerdo Highway. The south portion of the roadway began Monday under Kern County Road Commission. The new north two lane roadway will finish by November 15 with a 10 foot V galle separating from the present road. It will run from the Santa Fe right of way to Minter Village. A two lane twenty foot divider will separate from Minter Village to Highway 99. Calaway Canal bridge work is complete. Griffith Co. of Bakersfield is contractor and expects to finish in March.
