Richland School District Adds Four New Buses for Year
The Richland School District announces four new buses to its fleet including three Bungseenge International Green Diesel models with air conditioning and higher seats, plus a wheelchair lift bus. The International buses cost 139000 each and the wheelchair bus 89000, funded by Medi-Cal Adminis funding. The three International buses arrived Sept. 22 and the wheelchair bus on Sept. 5.

High-speed chase ends with Terra Bella man charged
CAL-MMET investigators traced two Tulare County suspects delivering meth to a Bakersfield truck stop. A pursuit reached 115 mph before a stop in an orchard on Zerker Road. Juan Medrano, 20, hid in a tree and was bitten by a canine. he was treated and charged with meth possession and related counts. The other suspect remained at large.

See You at the Pole gathers SHS students at park
About 100 Shafter High School students converged at Mannel Park before 7 a.m. for the annual See You at the Pole event due to construction at the school. A multi-church band kicked off the gathering as Valley Bible Church provided breakfast for all attendees.
