Shafter hosts its second annual Scout O Rama at Richland Park October 20 21 led by Reg Hammond with six cub packs seven scout troops and four explorer posts. The event includes camp setup at 10 AM Saturday a noon lunch a 2 PM parade and open house for families and friends.

About 1200 people are expected at the Richland PTA Barbecue in Shafter area on Shafter avenue. The outdoor picnic carnival starts at 5 p.m. with serving through 8 p.m. Sideshows include a cake walk, movies, dart booth, baseball throw, ring toss, carriage ride, popcorn stand, and merry-go-round. Tickets are 1.50 for adults and 75 cents for children. Tickets available at Stringham's drug store and Laverty's Chevron station or at the barbecue.

Richland School District Accepts Library Completion
The Richland School District board accepted the library project from contractor George Uhler of Bakersfield as completed. The job cost $70,225 and was completed last month. Community Chest Plans Drive and November 2 Campaign
