Shafter Tax Cut and County Receipts in September
California counties received 11.46 million and cities 59.06 million from September sales tax allocations totaling 70.5 million. Shafter gains 19,710 from the state share, Kern County 628,752 plus 390,420 from the county fund, and BART counties receive 3.57 million from an extra sales tax. A shotgun valued at about 200 dollars was stolen from John Sloas Jr. in Shafter, taken from a closet in the last four weeks.
