The Delano parade begins at 10 a.m. winding downtown with an 1873 motif for the 80th anniversary. Top prizes include 100 dollars for best overall, 75 for organization floats, 50 and 25 for lower placements, plus trophies for fifth to seventh. Juvenile, old time, and regular divisions offer multiple prize levels across floats, cars, bands, and groups.
Wasco Union High School's 51 member band directed by Quentin Young performed a concert at the Kern County Fair on Wednesday night. Young released a schedule listing loan activities and upcoming football games and parades through November including dates in Delano Dinuba and Shafter with Wasco as the host.
