Shrinking Permits Across Kern County in October 1991
Shafter and Wasco posted small October permit values while year to date totals plunged. Kern County as a whole fell 55 percent from October 1990 with year to date down 19 percent, led by declines in unincorporated areas and several cities, though Delano and McFarland showed gains. Bakersfield held steady, while California City and Taft posted mixed results amid a broader slowdown in residential construction.
