John F Kennedy, 35th president, buried in Arlington after a day of national mourning. The assassination in Dallas on Friday left Gov. John Connally wounded, Patrolman J D Tippitt dead, and Lee Harvey Oswald killed by Jack Ruby. The service at St Matthews Cathedral followed a noon Mass led by Cardinal Cushing.

Ogan Leads California Baptist Convention Close in Bakersfield

Ogan of Shafter was elected first vice president and a California Baptist College fund drive gained approval after a $112,000 donation from Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Wallace.

James Dale Arnold, 20, is in Memorial Hospital Bakersfield in good condition after a Sunday morning accident in Shafter. Police say he dozed at 6:46 a m and his car left the road in front of the Maytag Shop, suffering a broken jaw and other injuries. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Keeton Fined $230 For Driving Offense In Shafter
Glenn L. Keeton of Fresno was fined $230 or 60 days in jail on drunk driving charges after a Shafter Justice Court appearance. He was cited for improper vehicle equipment and license issues following a November 19 highway patrol arrest in a 1961 Peugeot four door sedan. He paid the fine.
