Shafter High Class of 1940 recalls sociable year
The 1940 Laurion notes Shafter High School’s first Campus Queen Ball, senior dances, and a busy social calendar. Faculty changes included Pack, Stys, Walters, and Pulcifer. The Laurion highlights FFA champions, CSF activities, and a strong athletic year with Sierra League titles in football and track. Fifty graduates, many remaining in Kern County, planned a 1960 reunion.
