International Conference Opens in Reedley With 1500 Delegates
The Pacific district Mennonite Brethren conference gathered in Reedley this weekend with over 1500 delegates and guests. Services spanned thanksgiving missions and youth programs in the church tabernacle and new basement. Shafter will see its first lodge of the Pacific Woodmen Life Association as a local branch is instituted in the Wednesday Afternoon Club clubhouse. Jennings Pierce, Kern county born and educated, head of agricultural programs for NBC Western Division in San Francisco, will be toastmaster at the California Fruit Growers and Farmers Convention banquet at Hotel El Tejon December 14.
