American Legion Post 865 honored veterans on Veterans Day with Taps at Shafter Cemetery and a parade in Bakersfield. George Vargas spoke of duty to honor servicemen as Ardith Branch played Taps. Fellow Legion members Mike McCarthy and Harold Lamas attended. Displays, bands, and a poignant horse-drawn flag coffin finale closed the remembrance.
